Brunch wedding RSVP wording you can copy

A daytime wedding changes the meal line, not the need for a date. Ask what people eat, not how late they will stay.

The short answer

Say that it is brunch, and still give a date. Please reply by 29 May. Breakfast and cake will be served. A coffee or tea choice is optional. Do not ask about a dinner you are not serving.

Guests who assume an evening will plan the rest of the day around you. The invitation should already say morning. The reply confirms who will actually eat. The day timeline is where the hours live.

The invitation line

Print this on the invitation itself, or on a small enclosure if the main card is already full.

Please join us for brunch. Kindly reply by 29 May.

The reply card

5 lines, and nothing else that the kitchen or the seating chart will not use.

Wait until a few days after the printed date, then send this once. Copy the replies into the same list you use for the cards, so you are not keeping two headcounts.

Hi Leah, we are confirming brunch numbers on Friday. Can we still set a place for you at 11. A yes or no is enough, and any allergy if we should know.

When this wording fits, and when it does not

Do not use evening language (dinner and dancing to follow) on a brunch card. Do not offer a plus-one for the evening if there is no evening.

The date on the card is not a guess. Work it back from the caterer's headcount deadline with the RSVP deadline calculator. The usual window is ten days to two weeks before that date, as in when to send invitations.

Questions

How do you RSVP for a brunch wedding?

The same as dinner: a name, a yes or no, a date. Add a diet line if the kitchen is plating a choice.

Should the card say brunch?

Yes, if the invitation is short. Guests plan childcare and trains around the hour.

Do you still need an RSVP date in the morning?

Yes. Caterers who serve brunch have a headcount deadline too, often the same two weeks out.

What about people who cannot come until later?

If there is no later, say so kindly. If a tea or drinks hour exists, put that option on the card.
