Wedding website RSVP wording you can copy

A printed date plus one link is clearer than a QR code with no sentence. Say what happens when they open it.

The short answer

Print the date, then Please reply at getyesido.com/w/your-address by 29 May. A QR code can sit beside that sentence, not instead of it. Offer a phone number for guests who will not use a form.

Online replies only work if everyone lands in the same list. Two forms, or a form plus a pile of texts, is how the headcount drifts. What belongs on the site is in what to put on a wedding website.

The invitation line

Print this on the invitation itself, or on a small enclosure if the main card is already full.

Please reply at our website by 29 May. The address is on the enclosed card.

The reply card

3 lines, and nothing else that the kitchen or the seating chart will not use.

Please reply by 29 May at

getyesido.com/w/your-address

Or call Maya on 555-0100 if you prefer not to use the form.

Use this when most guests are comfortable online, and you are willing to take a few replies by phone so older relatives are not locked out.

A reminder you can send

Wait until a few days after the printed date, then send this once. Copy the replies into the same list you use for the cards, so you are not keeping two headcounts.

Hi Owen, a reminder that replies close on 29 May. The form is still open at the link we sent. If it is easier, a message here with your yes or no is fine, and we will mark it.

When this wording fits, and when it does not

Do not print only a QR code with no date and no address. Do not run a second form on The Knot and a third in email. Do not hide the phone option if you offered it.

The date on the card is not a guess. Work it back from the caterer's headcount deadline with the RSVP deadline calculator. The usual window is ten days to two weeks before that date, as in when to send invitations.

Questions

How do you word an online RSVP on a card?

Please reply by [date] at [address], plus a phone number if you will accept calls. The QR code is extra, not the whole instruction.

Do you still need a paper RSVP if you have a website?

Not if the card points online and you have a fallback for guests who will not use it. Many couples skip the stamped envelope.

What if someone replies twice?

The guest list is the record. Mark the latest clear answer and ignore the duplicate.

Please reply is enough. Some guests do not know the abbreviation. The date matters more than the word.
